PSYCHEDELIC/PROGRESSIVE
ELECTRIC MAINLINE/SOUNDWIRE - SPLIT 7" (7"/NORTHERN STAR)
The Electric Mainline are a musical collective based in London. The bands sound falls somewhere between shoegaze, punk and psychedelia. This is music for kids with their eyes rolled back in their heads and their heads in the clouds. Soundwire are a Swansea based psychedelic quintet with krautrock tendencies who owe more to Primal Scream and Spiritualized than any traditional definition of psychedelia. Soundwire have worked with Tim Holmes from Death In Vegas. The Electric Mainline and Soundwire have both featured on Northern Stars legendary Psychedelica series alongside The Black Angels, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Telescopes and many others. Tracklisting: A - All Too Much - The Electric Mainline AA - A Little Death - Soundwire

THREE DIMENSIONAL TANX - I AM GO/LOOSE ID SYD (7"/SUNSTONE)
The songs in this 7-inch are rooted in classic indie guitar music, with a big dollop of psych and the raw energy of snarling garage-punk. In an era that's dominated by radio-friendly pop, this record stands out as a defiant act of brilliance.

ABACUS - ARCHIVES 1: NEWS FROM THE 80S (LP/GREEN TREE)
Digitally remastered and never released before. Abacus features Chris Williams, mastermind of British psychedelic prog band Grail.
DATASHOCK - KEINE OASE IN SICHT (2LP) (LP/DEKORDER)
Having been around for 11 years already, DATASHOCK are still exploring "the space of nomadic sounds" and looking for old sources of fresh sounds, unfazed by contemporary musical mirages. No oasis in sight? Not a problem. This cosmic caravan is ready and well-equipped with sounds and the knowledge of their elders to continue on their path full of deprivation. Datashock know where they are from, and they know where not to go in order not to lose their way. Even if you cannot see them, they are there. They are calling from the desert, can you hear them? 'Keine Oase In Sicht' contains nine tracks and is presented in a full colour (reverse) gatefold sleeve, including a download.

FJODOR - SAINT ANTHONY'S FIRE (BLACK) (LP/COSMIC EYE)
Limited to 200 copies on coloured vinyl. FJODOR are an instrumental progressive space rock band from Croatia, influenced by Balkan sounds, oriental roots music, Krautrock, fusion, electronic space rock and the Floydian progressive take on classic psychedelia. 'St. Anthony's Fire' is their third album. It can be described as a 46-minute conceptual work of instrumental progressive rock, mixed with heavy psychedelic guitar riffs and space synthesizer vibes that colour the music with the typical jam grooves of late '80s free festival bands.

KEMIALLISET YSTÄVÄT - ALAS RATTOISAA VIRTAA (LP/DEKORDER)
'Alas Rattoisaa Virtaa' is the first Kemialliset Ystävät album in four years. It's the result of enhancing online collaboration methods, as well as a strong desire to get lost in sound archives and the high art of meticulous editing. If contemporary music is a high speed train passing by, then Kemialliset Ystävät's music is an orgy of light under a railway bridge. This LP includes a full colour printed inner sleeve.

KLEPTOMANIA - ELEPHANT LOST (2LP) (LP/PSEUDONYM)
Double vinyl reissue (plus three unissued versions as killer bonus tracks) of this famous Belgian heavy psych/prog album. 'Elephant Lost' was recorded in 1971, but remained shelved for a number of years before it saw an actual small scale release, in '79. Inspired by Hendrix, blues, jazz and early '70s heavy rock, the band delivered a fistful of blooz fuzz on 'Moonchild', utilized a potent riff-and-vocal combination on 'Stop', blended melody with a heavy sound on 'Visit From Above', and showed off their chops on some spacey jams. This definitely is one of Europe's finest heavy rock rarities from the era! This double-LP (with remastered sound from the original tapes) is pressed on 180-gram vinyl and comes packaged in a deluxe heavy gatefold sleeve. Included are rare archival photos and liner notes by Ugly Things' Doug Sheppard. TRACKS - CHAPTER A: 1. Intro (2:58) 2. Improve (5:55) 3. Moonchild (4:19) 4. Stop (4:48) CHAPTER B: 1. 'Elegy' (5:36) 2. Thema (5:35) 3. Cadens (1:43) 4. Travel (4:04) CHAPTER C: 1. Visit From Above (6:05) 2. Divertimentos (11:06) CHAPTER D: 1. Intrude (6:25) 2. 'Stop' (3:09) 3. Cadens (3:16) 4. Visit From Above (3:34)

MAHA SOHONA - MAHA SOHONA (BLACK) (LP/NASONI)
EDITION OF 400 COPIES ON BLACK VINYL. Here's the debut-album from Sweden's Maha Sohona. Merging '70s classic guitar rock with stoner and influenced by oriental sounds as well, this promising trio emerges out of the cold north with a heavy dose of rock on their agenda. These three amigos have joined forces, coming from diverse backgrounds spanning metal, pop and jazz to create something of their own. Lyrically the material touches on themes of exploration, both internal and external.

MR. ALBERT SHOW - STRANGE STORY (2LP) (LP/PSEUDONYM)
The Eindhoven-based Mr. Albert Show may be considered one of the ultimate Dutch jam bands of the late sixties, combining elements from rhythm & blues, rock, soul and psychedelia. The five-piece, led by saxophone player Bertus Borgers (later a member of highly rated bands s.a. Sweet d'Buster, Golden Earring, Groove Express) was truly a sensation for anyone who witnessed one of their gigs in the period 1969-1973. The band recorded two albums, both of which now fetch high prices amongst international record collectors. This double-LP, pressed on 180-gram audiophile vinyl, features excellent sounding highlights (remastered from the original tapes!) from their farewell live-show, that took place in their hometown in 1973. Includes are renditions of band classics s.a. 'Electronic Baby' and 'Let It All Hang Out', as well as cover versions of 'Can't Find My Way Home' (Steve Winwood), the classic Beatles-song 'Things We Said Today' and the Stones-original 'Jumpin Jack Flash'. This release is presented in a great, heavy gatefold sleeve with artwork by well known cartoonist Joost Swarte, and including rare photos and liner notes by Wouter Bessels. TRACKLIST - CHAPTER A: 1. Strange Story (15:28) 2. Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You (3:51) CHAPTER B: 1. Red Rooster (7:30) 2. Let It All Hang Out (5:52) 3. Open Up (5:18) CHAPTER C: 1. Jumping Jack Flash (8:31) 2. Hooked On You (4:51) 3. Things We Said Today (5:06) CHAPTER D: 1. Shoulder To Lean On (9:58) 2. Electronic Baby (7:18)

TORTUGA - TORTUGA (LP/NASONI)
LP on coloured vinyl, edition of 300 copies. Using cosmic soundscapes, elements of psychedelia, doom and progressivism, and melodies that melt through time, the music on this LP guides the listener through a wonderful mulit-dimensional parallel universe. Tortuga was founded by Argentine singer-guitarist Christian Van Lacke, also known from the band TLÖN. He is joined by Peruvian drummer Julio "Naka" Almeida (ex-Mazo) and bass player Jesus Morate, previously of the Madrid-based underground unit Nazca, and also a member of Peru's reunited '60s legends Los Saicos.

WELTRAUM - SPIRITUALITY (2LP) (LP/NASONI)
Limited edition double-LP on coloured vinyl. The 2014 delivery from German act WELTRAUM is another delightful celebration of psychedelic freak outs and space-jam improvisations. This journey through space, time and spirituality is full of surprises. Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for take-off!
FREEBORNE - PEAK IMPRESSIONS (CD/ARF! ARF!)
Aficionados of 1960s psychedelic rock recognize the Freeborne's 1968 album 'Peak Impressions' as one of the best and most collectable records in the genre. Formed in 1966 as an offshoot of two Boston-area garage bands (The Missing Links and the Indigos), the Freeborne have remained something of an enigma; avoiding both the limelight and the eventual stigma associated with the "Bosstown" fad. Their eclectic musical vision, which incorporates complex musical textures, sophisticated composition, creative studio effects, elements of jazz, rock, blues, and free-form sounds, all create a truly ambitious period piece from the turbulent day-glow Sixties. The sound for this substantial upgrade release is taken directly from the original mastertapes and includes six bonus and enlightening alternate mono mixes. In addition, the package concludes with three recent 'Reborne' compositions from 2010 that involve three members of the original band and pay homage to the their original adventurous musical spirit. This quality 78-minute CD edition comes packaged in an informative 24-page booklet chock full of pictures, memorabilia, and liner notes by noted archivist Gary Burns culled from insightful interviews with all five members of the ensemble.

QOPH - GLANCING MADLY BACKWARDS (CD/TRANSUBSTANS)
'Glancing Madly Backwards' is a reflection of the first 10 years of the motley career of QOPH. The album is a complement to the three albums recorded between 1998 and 2013 and contains previously unreleased tracks, alternate versions and tunes that never made it to the pressing plants. This compilation of obscurities paints a picture of a band that cherishes its classic hard rock roots, but simultaneously twist that well-known sound between genres in the experimental fields of rock. And that's something that certainly makes it hard to pin QOPH down.

SKALDOWIE - CALA JESTES W SKOWRONKACH (CD/KAMLELEON)
Reissue of their 1969 Lp with 12 bonus tracks from radio sessions. Skaldowie, a Cracow, Poland, rock group, was particularly popular from the 1960s to the 1980s. With their musical training and proximity to the folklore-rich area of Podhale, many of their tracks were a fusion of rock, folk, and classical music.

YOUNGTEAM - FADING INTO THE NIGHT (CD/NORTHERN STAR)
'Fading Into Night' is the 2nd full-length album from Sweden's Youngteam. The follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed debut 'Daydreamer'. 'Fading Into Night' takes up where 'Daydreamer' left off and leads Youngteam into darker realms altogether. The album was recorded with top Swedish producer Mattias Glava (Dungen, Soundtrack of Our Lives) at the helm, and is a dark, stark, unsettling beauty of a record. It is Youngteam's darkest and most accomplished work to date. This could be their masterpiece. Youngteam have featured prominently on Northern Star's legendary 'Psychedelica' compilation series alongside the likes of the Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Black Angels, The Telescopes, The Hiss, The Electric Soft Parade, The Nova Saints, The December Sound and many others. Their music recalls a whole host of greats such as My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Sonic Flower Groove-era Primal Scream and Brian Jonestown Massacre, but like all great bands, Youngteam transcend their influences and arrive at their own unique sound.

CONTROL UNIT - BLOODY LANGUAGE (BLACK) (7"/BACKWARDS)
Limited to 300 copies on black vinyl.

KOMMANDO - KRANIAL KLASH (LP/ANT-ZEN)
Kommando was Dan Courtman's pre-Thorofon project which released two cassette tapes and two CDs during its initial existence. Four years after the 'Crimefactory' album Kommando is re-established with the vinyl LP 'Kranial Klash' which marks a technological update as well as a mental one. On this album the bygone decades' spirit of innovative aggressive, distorted sounds are updated to a high level of industrial art. The nine tracks offer a contemporary version of varied musical directions ranging from advanced power electronics and amorphic, grinding noise to precise, crisp sequences. Repetitive electronic loops, rhythms and beats are highlighted with manipulated vocal insertions - the outcome is a rough, forcible and hypnotic aural document of Kommando's state of mind.

ANTICHILDLEAGUE - THE SON (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)
A journey into ANTIchildLEAGUE's birth and execution of the son ritual. Constructions and deconstructions of sounds, words into an empty space at times filled with abstract realities, at times with walls not easy to break. Reflections of controlling artificial machines, maintaining an upright position but then falling apart as nature commands. ANTIchildLEAGUE is the project of Gaya Donadio who is also known for promotion of her underground music live events and mail-order in London, under the banner of Hinoeuma the Malediction/Confession/Hagshadow. Born as an experimental DIY solo project in 1997 ANTIchildLEAGUE has evolved into a wider range of sound constructions covering genres such as industrial noise, power electronics, ritual and rhythmic dark ambient electronics. 'The Son' is part of 'The Father, Son and Holy Ghost' trilogy.

CANDOR CHASMA - THE KEY (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)
The follow-up to CANDOR CHASMA debut albym . Corrado Altieri (Monosonik, Uncodified) and Simon Balestrazzi (T.A.C., Dream Weapon Ritual) bring us again into a far voyage into unknown and very deep territories using the best sounds of the old-school industrial.
LUNUS - NIHIL (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)
LUNUS at his beAst... monochrome stark harsh beats and anti-drone musick. For those who do not have memory Lunus is the solo project of Devis "deviLs" Granziera of Teatro Satanico. And indeed here, among these gloomy tracks, you may find the bitter essence of older Teatro Satanico recordings. Industrial noise reverberations and echoes emerging before dissolving once again to leave a tense heavy beat. And then strands of bursts of unbridled synthetic mangling. And subsequent wisps of melancholic alien tones and shadows. NIHIL is the nothing that Death brings. Nothing that will never go away, like a blurry recall from blackest emptiness, like a deep dark blood-spilling slash in your soul, a souvenir from Hell and an album of bleak, desperate, sad, doomed beauty. Comes as a luxurious digipack with cover art by Italian maestro Saturno Buttò.
MORTHOUND - MORTOLOGY 1990-1996 (5CD) (CD/RAUBBAU)
An extensive collection, not only re-releasing Morthound's three seminal albums for Cold Meat Industry, but also the sought-after debut cassette, all five exclusive compilation tracks known to man and ten unreleased tracks as well - the entire legacy of what was Benny Nilsen's dark musical past. These five discs cover the 6-year-lifespan of Morthound and showcase its remarkable metamorphosis from an outlet for noisy juvenile experiments over eerie death industrial and refined dark ambient, via gothic-tinged songs and soundscapes to metal-infused tracks. Comes in a heavy black cardboard box, including an 8-page booklet and 5 CD's in black gatefold sleeves with copper print.
RITA - BALLET FEET POSITION (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)
THE RITA's new full length work is a complex work of obsessive research on discipline, elite beauty, and suffering in the world of ballet. The main piece of the album is a lengthy composition that starts extremely minimal with subtle textural sounds, interrupted by samples of actual ballet training sessions. Sounds slowly builds up in a over the top harsh noise machinery that brings Sam McKinlay's classic trademark that crowned him as the godfather of harsh noise wall, with a monolithic build up of violence and intensity. Second track is a power electronics rework of the the same sounds executed by Insubria hostile electronic unit CALIGULA031 that mixed all material with analog/modular sounds and in your face vocals, underlining different possibilities of textural processing. Regarding the original sound sources, Vancouver musician, media artist, trained dancer Kelly Davis rigorously went through various feet positions and movements of classical ballet including battements, rotary movements, connecting and auxiliary movements, etc. while a Traumatone contact microphone was rigged with a knee support brace to the side of her knee/thigh to capture the sounds of any hint of movement. The different chapters of sound were all repeatedly processed live by THE RITA as Davis went through her various positions and movements. THE RITA's recent use of extended samples as a single, conceptual release or as a building block of material is derived from the complete immersion in a topic found in earlier influences of WHITEHOUSE, TAINT, and OVMN, but also as an extension of his work with women's singing and vocal work in the earlier THE RITA - Women's Vocals LP. McKinlay finds that the totemic fetishism and the subtle resonances of the female voice as they describe the topic(s) help to bury the listener into all that is woman, especially as the samples shift into the symmetry of a female dancers recorded movement. Comes in digipack and illustrated 12 pages booklet with unsettling text contributions by ex-dancer/writer Simone Paget and Marco Deplano (Wertham).

VARIOUS - EIDOLON: A TRIBUTE TO REUTOFF (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)
For those (few) who don't know Reutoff: they are one of the more prominent and intriguing Russian post-industrial ambient projects. The album, celebrating the band's 16th anniversary, consists of remixes and cover versions on original Reutoff tracks, made by bands / projects / friends, whose music has always been close to the band. Most of the contributors created their tracks using original Reutoff material, some of them were just inspired by Reutoff's music, others tuned in with their own sound and the track with Deutsch Nepal is an entirely team-work piece. "The "Eidolon essence" is a reflection: there was a time, when we absorbed, we were imbued with the images of the tribute participants. Their music and their impressions on their own epiphanies were interpreted in our music. Now it's their turn, we came to full circle and the phantoms are granted with new lives. We are grateful to every each and one of you, you did your best. A special thank you goes out to Oleg Pashchenko for the cover art. His flair is as brilliant as is his genius." ~Reutoff. Tracks: 01. ATRIUM CARCERI: Capacity To Kill 02. DESIDERII MARGINIS: Hypnerotomachia 03. FLINT GLASS: Tunnels In The Dark 04. EMPUSAE: La Meno Ma Mento 05. SAL SOLARIS: Never Touch The Xyu 06. ROCK'N'ROLL/PSYCHOBILLY
HENDRIX, AL - YOUNG AND WILD (7"/SLEAZY)
As they say, you are never too old to rock. Skipping the slow tracks, this record compiled the four rockin' sides originally released by Al Hendrix between 1958 and 1962, when he was trying to make it big with rock'n'roll while having a real ball. "Young and wild, that's my style, that's me". Oh, yeah! Tracks: Side A: 01 Young And Wild 02 Monkey Bite. Side B: 01 Rhonda Lee 02 Go Daddy Rock.
Listen to 'Young and Wild' HERE.
WILLIAMS, LARRY - GET READY BABY! (10") (10"/SLEAZY)
Larry Williams embodies the prototype of the rock'n'roll loser. His first singles at Specialty were real big hits that would become cornerstones of the genre and of the record company itself. Unlike Little Richard, Larry never really got the success he deserved, and his latest singles at the company failed to ring the bell, despite enclosing great songs like The Dummy, Peaches & Cream or the superb Bad Boy. TRACKLIST SIDE A: 1. Lawdy Mama 2. Like A Gentleman Oughta 3. Everyday I Wonder 4. Baby Baby 5. My Baby's Got Soul SIDE B: 6. Fresh Out Of Tears 7. Get Ready 8. I Wanna Know 9. Oh Baby 10. GARAGE/BEAT/PSYCH
GRAVEYARD FIVE - THE GRAVEYARD THEME/THE MARBLE ORCHARD (7"/STANCO)
A true masterpiece of 60s U.S. garage rock finally reissued after more than 45 years. Very limited pressing of only 500 copies, with replica labels. Fully authorized, licensed, restored and remastered. The first ever reissue of the legendary Graveyard Five single: 'The Graveyard Theme' b/w 'The Marble Orchard' (Stanco SR-102), one of the true "holy grails" of garage rock. This is truly one of the rarest 45s in the world, with only a handful of original copies known to exist; no surprise then that they sell for more than $4,500! 'The Graveyard Theme,' an exercise in fuzz guitar excess, was apparently inspired by a Ouija board session. The B side is the fuzz soaked reverb-laden monster, 'The Marble Orchard', which tells the true tale of the creepy, wet October night the band spent in the cemetery; they were convinced they saw something move from behind a tombstone and then heard "a wolfpack howl". If the circumstances and subject matter of these songs isn't creepy enough, the recording studio where these songs were recorded was supposedly haunted by a spectre that provided guest background vocals in the form of a growling noise thats clearly audible near the end of 'The Marble Orchard'.

FOLK/ACID FOLK
LORDS OF THYME - PROUD MAISRE/IF I WAS A BIRD (7"/SUNSTONE)
From the Southern English Midlands come the Lords Of Thyme. With an eye towards the crystalline acid folk of Pentangle and the rougher approach of f.i. John Martyn and underground folkact Mr. Fox, here are two tracks off their ultra-limited, hand-painted CD-only release, mixed by John Wood and pressed on heavy black 7-inch vinyl.

IDITAROD - FOXFUR & RAREBITS (LP/MORC)
The Iditarod was a pioneering group in the folkscene of the early 2000s. Their handmade music drew from traditional folk songs, 1960's psychedelia, and DIY culture. Although often overlooked, their legacy is immense. This album brings together oddments and although these songs were never meant to be together as an album, they do work as one. These tracks feature contributions by Margie Wienk (Fern Knight) and Sharron Kraus. The album comes with extensive liner notes, artwork by vocalist Carin Sloan and a download coupon, in an edition of 150 copies. "Minimal kind of bleak psychedelic folk that owes as much to the somnambulism of Bristol's Movietone as it does to early 70s private press semi-legends like Stone Angel or Caedmon. Stunning." ~The Wire. "The Iditarod has, no matter what the line-up, always cared out their own mysterious universe of sound where minimal folkscapes blend with found sounds and far-reaching meditate ambitions into a desolate but still very gentle sound." ~The Broken Face. "A kind of folk music that feels as sinister as it does reassuring." ~Dream Magazine. Tracks: A1. Feel The Breath Of The Woods Upon Your Heart, Part One A2. Sparrow A3. Where The Cold Winds Blow B1. Carol, 4AM B2. Julia Dream B3. Cold, Drafty Castles With Absent Masters B4. Feel The Breath Of The Woods Upon Your Heart, Part Two

CHAOS U.K./DEATH SIDE - SPLIT LP (LP/NOISE NOT MUSIC)
Reissue of a monstruous split between two '80s HC faves. This 'Japan Meets England' split between Chaos U.K. and Death Side was released in 1987 by the legendary Selfish label, to celebrate Chaos U.K.'s first Japan tour. Surprisingly enough this is probably the best Chaos U.K. material ever! On the flip you hear the band that created the whole 'Burning Spirit' HC sound, and who, together with Confuse and Kuro, form the (un-)holy trinity of Japanese HC. Fuzzy, noisy, and as fast as humanly possible.
Listen to 'Trust' HERE.
G.I.S.M. - MILITARY AFFAIR NEUROTIC (LP/NOISE NOT MUSIC)
With originals going up to 800 euros on ebay, this is the holy grail of Japanese HC. Released back in 1987, G.I.S.M.'s second album sounds as violent and noisy as their groundbreaking debut 'Detestation', but it also embraces hints of NWOBHM and early industrial. Sounding like a cross between Iron Maiden, Conflict, Bathory and early Ministry, this is the album that freed HC from its straitjacket and reinvented it. It's now reissued as exact repro of the original, pressed on PURPLE VINYL, with a colour insert and SILKSCREENED PVC sleeve. Also included is an exact repro of the hyper rare giant 50x70cm poster that was included with the first, mailorder-only, original copies! Be the envy of your squat!

SOUNDTRACKS
RASHOMON - THE CAMERAMAN'S REVENGE (+DVD) (LP/CINEPLOIT)
RASHOMON is the solo project of Matt Thompson, bassist and keyboardist of Cineploit artist ZOLTAN and cosmic synth act CREMATOR. 'The Cameraman's Revenge' is the 4th release under the Rashomon name, and the first on Cineploit. The earlier Rashomon albums were a mix of experimental pieces and music influenced by film composers, and with time the music has developed in a purely cinematic direction. The music on 'The Cameraman's Revenge' was composed as two long soundtrack pieces to accompany silent movies by Russian filmmaker Ladislaw Starewicz. 'The Cameraman's Revenge' itself is an early surrealist masterpiece from 1912, in which Starewicz animated the corpses of dead insects to tell a tale of infidelity and revenge. The soundtrack is a carnival-esque tour-de-force of folk-concrete, utilising harmoniums, jawharps, vintage synthesisers, an array of oddball percussion and more. 'The Mascot' (1933) is a bizarre and disturbing film for children, and Rashomon's soundtrack reflects this darkness with shifting drones, ominously melodic waltzes and minimalist organ fugues over the course of its 25 minute length. On the DVD that comes with the vinyl both films are featured, accompanied by Rashomon's music. 180 gram vinyl. DVD in papersleeve. Limited to 500 copies.

THELEMA (AUSTRIA) - GROWING (LP/CINEPLOIT)
The album 'Growing' from Thelema creates cineastic atmospheres and soundscapes by vintage instruments in combination with a haunting voice. From the first seconds on you are banned in an irresistible world where it seems like Arthouse meets Europloitation! This development is a logical shift towards a classical art of sweeping songwriting. 'Growing' is a logical development in Thelema's musical path - dark, haunting, distinctive! 180 gram heavy solid black vinyl. For fans of Angelo Badalamenti, Portishead, Bohren & der Club of Gore.

GOSPEL
VARIOUS - GO DEVIL GO (LP/JEROME)
'Go Devil Go' is a selection from the glorious 3CD set 'Fire In My Bones', compiled by Mike McGonigal in 2009. Most of the recordings included here were published on 45's or 78's for less known independent companies, some by tiny local labels and sometimes paid by the church congregation itself. As McGonigal explains in the liner notes: "This is Gospel - which we must always remember translates as 'the good news' (...) I find it to be among the most vibrant, playful, beautiful and emotionally charged music in the world". Amen. TRACKLISTING: 01. I'M A SOLDIER - THE PHILLIPS' SPECIALS 02. ME'S, THE - NO NO NO/OUI OUI OUI (7"/VOODOO RHYTHM)
THE ME'S is a musical collaboration between two mind blowing talents. REKA SCISZER is a Hungarian-Austrian Jazz singer, filmmaker and enfant terrible of THE PUSSYWARMERS). The second member, LALA MORTE, is a Paris-based Thai-Vietnamese burlesque performer. 'No No No' on Side 1 features the whispering BILLY HOLIDAY-influenced voice of Reka. On the flip it's LALA taking the leading role on a JANE BIRKIN inspired performance, which also features a minimal lo-fi Casio home keyboard.

NEOFOLK/DARK FOLK
ART ABSCONS & GNOMONCLAST - SONGS OF HATE + HATE (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)
Collaborative release by those 2 prime German/US art-dark-folk projects. A lovely bounch of superb noir-cabaret charming songs. The songs comprising 'Songs Of Hate + Hate' were solitarily composed and authored respectively by Art Abscon, J1 StatiK, and N2 ItinitI. In the span of one week, having met in Abscon, the three made recordings of these disparate compositions and agreed to ceremonially bury several corpses by way of lyrical effigy. It had long been their ambition to speak clearly; that their meaning be readily understood. In the plainest words, their 'Songs Of Hate + Hate' are a praxis for what is to come and a faithful record of what came before; as was once sung in song: "Do this for love, but first honor hate" [Luftwaffe, Ere I Perish]. These songs are dedicated to those who would profit from borrowed accomplishments, but have nothing of their own to create. Art, J1 and N2 give their assurance that from their words and signs no theft will bring benefit. For after the last lie is redacted, what remains is often unkind. The jackals and hyenas know who they are; this album is dedicated to their dishonor.
BARBAROSSA UMTRUNK - LA FOSSE DE BABEL (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)
74 minutes of bombastic, neoclassical and tribal post-industrial muzak which describes dark "survivalists", martial processions and post-apocalyptic landscapes. The album invites guests and brothers in arms as like TSIDMZ, Vir Martialis, Front Sonore. 'La Fosse De Babel' is an apocalyptic and combative soundtrack for the final eschatologic battle of the end, a sacred doctrine to built the Transfigured New Man to come. When the Red Sun of the Great Eurasian Imperium will rise and Imam Al-Mahdi will come.

OTO - ANYWAY (12"/DESIRE)
Nancy is a small provincial town in the east of France. But its musical scene has always been fertile. In the early 70s, Gérard N'Guyen started the influential French fanzine Atem to write about improv, electronic, kosmische, kraut and prog rock bands that you couldn't find in the local record stores. He started to produce bands for the Atem label like Univers-Zéro, Art Zoyd and Présent. He discovered, produced and managed French synth gods Kas Product. But tired to deal with major companies A&R guys he set up his own independent label called Les Disques du Soleil et de l'Acier (Coil, Sprung Aus Den Wolken, Pascal Comelade). The second release of the label was the oTo 'Anyway' single that find its way to the dancefloors all over the world. From New York to Antwerp and Berlin, 'Anyway' was a floor filler that was played by rock, EBM or hip-hop DJs. 2014 marks its thirtieth anniversary and Desire is proud to reissue it (in collaboration with Mitzvah Records). It will be followed by the reissue of the sole oTo album 'Purge An Urge' and a compilation of rare oTo demos and unreleased tracks.

CANDIDATE (FRANCE) - SIDE BY SIDE (LP/DESIRE)
Limited to 300 copies on blue vinyl. Kas Produkt was an influential name in the French scene at the beginning '80s. They proved it was possible to sing in English and have success in other countries, but they are also responsible for the birth of the French electronic-pop scene. From Nancy (the home-town of both Kas Produkt and OTO) Candidate emerged in 1983. The boy/girl duo (the same formula as Kas Produkt) released their first cassette in 1984 on Permis De Construire (Nox, Geinst Naït, Muslimgauze, Zero Kama) to be shortly followed by a split 7 with Gangrène. In 1987 they released their debut (and only) album for local label Dum Dum Records. 'Side By Side' was really well received and the band played a lot of gigs to support it in France, Belgium, Switzerland and even Poland (more than 100 concerts during their career). 'Side By Side' is now reissued for the first time and has been entirely remastered by Anders Post. For fans of Deux, Moderne, Kas Produkt, Martin Dupont, Dark Day.
OTO - PURGE AN URGE (LP/DESIRE)
Limited to 300 copies on orange vinyl. After the success of the 'Anyway' 12, OTO, now a three-piece band played a few gigs before entering the studio to record their debut (and final) album 'Purge An Urge'. Produced by Vincent Hachet from French industrial duo Geinst Naït, 'Purge An Urge' was supposed to contain 9 tracks but the final release saw only 6 tracks. Cécile from fellow Nancy band Candidate even did some backing vocals. Released in 1986 on French label Divine, known to have released Mecano, Tuxedomoon, Fra Lippo Lippi, Minimal Compact etc., it was poorly promoted and was mainly sold in the Nancy area. But the music was as vibrant as their first effort and evokes bands like Second Layer, End Of Data, Das Kabinette, Grauzone or Martin Dupont. Pascal Hubert then formed and still performs in French successful alternative band Double Nelson. Now a much sought-after record 'Purge An Urge' is reissued for the very first time on vinyl.

CAPRICE - GIRDENWODAN, PART 2 (CD/PRIKOSNOVENIE)
A year after the first part, Caprice finishes the beautiful fairy tale. For this second part, Caprice was particularly attached to the beauty of their sound and orchestrations in order to immerse us in a colorful world full of mysterious beauties. The lyrics (in English) from Stevenson, Byron, Wilde... evokes playfulness, fantasy and overflowing imagination of fairies, and marvelous creatures. Inna, the emblematic lead singer guides us through this adventure. With its Winds, harps and strings and an hypnotic piano, Caprice takes our hand and go with us to the other side of the mirror... in the Other World. Pieces of pure magic and musical quintessence, Girdenwodan part 2 is for me, with Elvenmusic 1, the most beautiful album ever done by Caprice . It evokes impulsive and living fairies as conceived the Russian spirit but also melancholic, enigmatic as shown on the beautiful "Froud Style" cover of Marc Potts.

HOLOGRAM_ - GEOMETRICAL KEYS (CD/ANT-ZEN)
Hologram_ is the moniker of Martin Delisle from France who has worked with the electronic projects Dexy Corp., Cheerleader69 and Republik Of Screens and who also is a part of the Audiotrauma crew. Influenced by musicians like Amon Tobin, Hecq, Richard Devine, Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman as well as film directors like David Lynch, his intention is to generate mental plots with their very own imaginative sound. His debut album 'Geometrical Keys' is based on the concept of being forsaken inside a complex and distorted virtual environment, allegorized in form of three distinct chapters. It's an alchemistic hybrid of industrial music, dubstep, IDM, modern classical and disturbing soundscapes with granular electronics, tinted broken organic rhythms, melancholic piano lines, abstract glitch breaks and furious walls of noise. This album states a perfect amalgam of powerful beats and orchestral cinematic atmospheres.

IKE YARD - REMIXED (CD/DESIRE)
This CD only collection is compiling the three different remixes 12"s that Desire released during the last 18 months. It starts with a new mastered version of now classic Regis version of 'Loss'. It's followed by Monoton dub version of 'NCR'. LA's own Tropic Of Cancer delivers a great ethereal version of 'Half A God'. Camella Lobo signs a rare remix after a series of acclaimed EPs for Blackest Ever Black, Downwards and Mannequin. Former Ike Yard member and synth wizard Fred Szymanski also reinterpreted 'Half A God' with a unique musique concrète-inspired electronica piece under his Recombinant guise. Arnaud Rebotini, head honcho of Black Strobe, signs a long Detroit-inspired techno version of 'Cherish 8'. Powell (Diagonal Records) follows by doing a great beat-driven rework of 'Half A God'. The KVB delivers a post-punk rendition of 'Cherish 8'. 'Cherish 8' is also remixed by Vessel of Tri Angle/Young Echo fame. 'NCR' is also remixed by UK enigmatic industrial/dubstep Bandshell. The last three remixes are exclusive to this CD. 'Cherish 8' is remixed by French kraut/electronic producer Intramoros of One Switch To Collision and also by Norwegian electronic veterans Epilketrician. And to close this collection Monoton offers a club mix of NCR.

NIMON - THE KING IS DEAD (CD/ANT-ZEN)
Keef Baker founded his side project Nimon to cope with the intense emotions caused by the loss of his mother. This resulted in the album 'Drowning In Good Intentions', a compelling work of deep emotional ambiance. Nimon's second release 'The King Is Dead' also became a very personal work, a musical dedication to Keef's father who passed away in 2013. This album illustrates this outstanding artist's self-expression getting along with this tragic strike of fate. More than three hours of music were spontaneously made as a basis for the twelve final tracks, which were mastered by the legendary electronic/ambient musician Robert Rich. Nimon's musical concept is based on the only usage of a digitally manipulated electric guitar to create epic cinematic soundscapes influenced by Brian Eno, Fennesz and Tim Hecker.
IKE YARD - LOSS (REGIS VERSION) (12"/DESIRE)
As a taster of forthcoming Ike Yard remixes CD collection, Desire is proud to present a very limited one-sided vinyl with a new mastered version of Regis' remix of 'Loss'.

ORPHAN SWORDS - RISK IN A NEW AGE (12"/DESIRE)
Limited to 300 copies on opaque blue vinyl. Brussels-based Orphan Swords is duo featuring Yannick Franck aka Räum, sound experimentalist and founder of the Idiosyncratics label and Maze, producer and Bozar Electronic Arts Festival curator. Previously described as "industrial-slanted techno" or "new school industrial" by XLR8R or The Quietus, Orphan Swords' music results of the collision between Räum and Maze's widely different influences, including techno, noise or cold wave. Orphan Swords has been recently remixed by SHXCXCHCXSH, Dwellings, Paul Purgas (Emptyset) and Exoteric Continent and collaborated with Ike Yard's Stuart Argabright.
BERROCAL, JAC - MDLV (LP/SUB ROSA)
140 gram vinyl in 350 gram sleeve. A real event: Jac Berrocal has not released an album for 20 years. The legendary French trumpeter is back with his special atmosphere and feeling. Lots of guests too. Jacques "Jac" Berrocal (born 22 October 1946, Saint-Jean d'Angly) is a French trumpeter, singer and composer. He has been active since the 1970s in the independent and avant-garde music scene (he recorded/played with Steven Stapleton/Nurse With Wound and collaborated with Sunny Murray, Pascal Comelade, MKB (F.J. Ossang), James Chance, Alan Shorter, Bernard Vitet, Lol Coxhill, Michel Portal, Lizzy Mercier Descloux). He has released a few important albums, mainly on his own label d'Avantage. He also founded and performed in the group Catalogue. Berrocal has appeared too in several films.
KARINA ESP - A STILL FROM THE FILM (LP/MORC)
'A Still From The Film' is a sort of sister release of 2012's 'Detachment'. But this album is at the same time more abstract, and more accessible. The a-side is one sidelong melody rising out of a mix of hiss, crackles and guitarsounds. The b-side of the record is more straightforward, with a prominent role for Gower's vocals, which makes the album stand out far from his contemporaries. The album is pressed on high-quality German vinyl, and comes in an open sleeve printed by Smeraldina-Rima, with download coupon, in an edition of just 150 copies. Press quotes: "Karina ESP sets in slow motion a series of tonal drifts from attack suppressed guitar resonance and carefully controlled amplifier feedback, resulting in a barren and vaguely hostile environment." ~The Wire. "Meandering guitar drones that make you lose all sense of time, like you're half asleep and half awake." ~VPRO Dwars. Recommended if you like Windy & Carl, Hood, Circle Bros, melodic drones and guitar ambient.
MACHINEFABRIEK - DRUM SOLOS (BLACK) (LP/BACKWARDS)
Drums (played with sticks, mallets, bow and tuning forks) and processing by Rutger Zuydervelt. Mastered by Cory Allen at Altered Ear. Sleeve printed in metallic pantone gold ink. Limited edition of 300 copies on black vinyl.
