Recorded in 2002 and now at last available in The Benelux and many other parts of the world. Imagine a satirical comedy album based upon 1960's psych? Well this is it! If Spinal Tap were about a Beatlesesque/Kinksy psych-pop unit, Psychedelic Comedy would be the perfect soundtrack. All 60s clichs, ranging from "pa-pa-pa" backing vox, lyrics full of colourful imagery, sunny atmospheres, breezy orchestral arrangements, overused psychedelic effects, the typical 60s chord changes... you name it, its there! This CD is so hilarious, one would almost forget that this CD also is a display of brilliant musicianship! Skin up and laugh your head off listening to ridiculous, fake long lost flower power psych/pop/acid rock/punk music featuring a whole host of swinging psychedelic indulgences. There's even some beat poetry (Rod McKuen style) thrown in for kicks together with a couple of lounge lizard jazz tracks that add to the overall quirkiness. Could Hampton Court be UK neo-psych band Alice's Orb in disguise? Maybe. Whatever it is, its brilliant and very funny. And very special!
