The last in the Mississippi series of music from the Alan Lomax archives features a vocal group of unparalelled depth. Some are beautiful sorrowful acapella songs, there are raucous stompin' and shoutin' sessions and even a couple of tracks accompanied by a drum and fife band along with a banjo player. Recorded in homes and churches by Lomax between '59 and '62. Housed in old-school tip on sleeve.
