NAILBITER came out of nowhere in the beginning of the 2000's in a London where bad punk, terrible USA inspired hardcore and worse Euro Crust were the norm. They were foreign squatters obsessed with ANTI-CIMEX, Japanese Hardcore and Worldwide punk in a time when the internet hadn't made all those scenes commodities a google away from you. They played as much as they could to audiences who thought of them boring, dirty or un-hip. They managed to release a handful of records before their career stopped when the drummer was deported back to Brazil. Fast forward a few years ahead and NAILBITER are back in action. Touring Europe as often as they can and writing new material. Unfortunately they are not allowed to play live in UK due to the drummer's status but they have been unleashing their nihilistic hybrid of late era ANTI-CIMEX and Burning Sensation Japanese hardcore for a couple of years now. The Bait is their new recording, a seven track 12" including a rendition of ANTI-CIMEX's Sister Daylight. It was recorded in Belgium during August of 2011 at the end of one of their European escapades and mixed and mastered at various locations in UK during the following 12 months. Lyrically and musically Nailbiter are often compared to PAINTBOX, DEATH SIDE and late era ANTI-CIMEX. They paint bleak visions of day to day existence in this miserable world. Housed in a beautiful jacket designed by the guitarist Carlos Hiroshima, The Bait is a record for people who know there is not a better world and live for the now.

NAILBITER - FADED BRAIN AGE/ABUSED

NAILBITER started playing around the squat scene of London in 2000. They were a hybrid between Swedish and Japanese hardcore punk - think DEATHSIDE meets ANTI-CIMEX. They were like no other band in UK in recent history. Their nihilistic and bleak look at the world was based ... read more »

RAKTA - TUDO QUE E SOLIDO

RAKTA - TUDO QUE E SOLIDO

Two tracks of eerie and atmospheric post punk by Brazil's Rakta. 'Tudo Que E Solido' is an instant nugget that fits somewhere between BLOOD AND ROSES and THE DOORS. It's driven by the toms and the insistent and drone like keyboard work, building towards a dark cresendo. The ... read more »

INVASIóN - LA CAZA

INVASIóN - LA CAZA

"That storm you hear at the outset is a warning for the ferocity to follow. Barcelona's Invasion stick the three-chord approach to hardcore with so many left turns - so much reverb on the vocals that it sounds like the singer is attacking himself, long pauses for ... read more »

SURRENDER - THERE IS NO WAR

SURRENDER - THERE IS NO WAR

Three track 400 copies only European tour single from the Bay Area's peace-punk band SURRENDER. One side features 'Duty, Honor, Pride' which is a many parts protest song that's like a mix of SLEATER KINNEY, YOUTH IN ASIA and SUBMISSION HOLD whilst the flip features the ... read more »

WOOD, HANK -& THE HAMMERHEADS- - STAY HOME

'Stay Home' sees the this NYC band at its peak, having matured enough to write a masterpiece of dual-drumming-keyboard-driven punk. Their sound is still raw and unpolished, the drummer and percussionist hit hard and the guitar plays a superb mix of surf and classic first ... read more »

SUSPENSE - MURDER WITH THE AXE

SUSPENSE - MURDER WITH THE AXE

"I remember getting a letter from one of the DISORDER members who asked me to re-record him the SUSPENSE EP, because the song 'Crazy Sod' got cut off before it ended. As a lot of punk bands, the NEO PUNKZ were influenced a lot by DISCHARGE (and not only musically) and ... read more »
