This is a reimagining of Black Flag's seminal '81 record Damaged. It is not a covers record. Here he attempts to rewrite his favorite adolescent album word for word, from memory. It resounds with a kind of elegant simplicity: beautiful interlocking guitar parts, gorgeous 3-part vocal harmonies, &
some great songwriting. Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear manned the knobs, giving this the same rich sound that he brought to his own band.

JAPANESE BREAKFAST - SOFT SOUNDS FROM ANOTHER PLANET

NURSES - APPLE'S ACRE

Their off-kilter psych-pop is driven by ever-swelling vocal harmonies, adventurous electronics, some serious wheelin' & dealin' on the Rhodes piano, & the kind of new-primitivist percussion that may or may not involve a standard drum kit.
