Limited edition reissue on vinyl, first released in 1986, now available again. Side one contains the first studio recordings by El Duce's Mentors, originally released as the 'Trash Bag EP' because it was packaged in a plastic bag with an insert. It was recorded at Media Arts studio, the studio home of SST and Black Flag and was produced by Philco Raves. Side two offers live recordings of the band recorded at The Whisky-A GoGo and at the Mabuhay Gardens in San Francisco. The Mentors, originally hailing from the Great Northwest, gained infamy for their brand of Heavy Metal Punk music they named "Rape Rock" for their misogynistic lyrics. In fact Tipper Gore read the lyrics to one of their songs during the PMRC Congressional hearings. On 19th April 1997 El Duce was killed under suspicious circumstances, being apparently hit by a train in a state of intoxication. In a quite bizarre turn of events, El Duce's death came just days after he had been interviewed in connection with an allegation he had been hired by COURTNEY LOVE to kill NIRVANA frontman Kurt Cobain. Which makes this music even more essential!
