At last this superb album appears on CD. In the late '60s there were several American bands with the name The Collage. Don't get them mixed up. This LP by an LA based vocal 4-piece appeared on Smash Records (also The Left Banke's label) in 1968, and it's a wonderful collection of orchestrated west-coast sunshine pop with male and female vocals. The songs are both self penned gems and covers, f.i. of The Collectors ('Looking At A Baby') and Curt Boettcher's 'Would You Like To Go'. This one's on par with the highly regarded albums by like minded artists s.a. Free Design, Eternity's Children, Mama's & Papa's, Euphoria (who'd later turn into Bermuda Triangle), Pleasure Fair and Sunshine Company. If you're into these groups, this title is heavily recommended! Comes with rare bonus tracks!
