Lotti Golden, who wrote all songs on this album except one that she co-wrote, is a very earthy female vocalist on this "psychedelic soul trip" album, produced by Bob Crewe. The vocals, material and musicianship are outstanding. One standout track is 'A Lot Like Lucifer', a sprawling epic that starts out soulful, turns ragtime, leads into a stomper, throws in some fuzz guitar, goes for the Memphis sound, and then tosses in the kitchen sink. Guitarist Vinnie Bell is credited for guitar work on the LP. Includes 2 bonus tracks.

SHAMPOO - VOLUME ONE

SHAMPOO - VOLUME ONE

JUKIN' BONE - WAY DOWN EAST (GERMANY)

The second and final album by these upstate New York blues-rockers was more polished than their live-in-the-studio, occasionally drunk debut, Whiskey Woman, but that's actually to the music's detriment. While the band can definitely play, laying biting slide guitar over a ... read more »

AXIS - AXIS

AXIS - AXIS

Originally released in 1973. Digitally remastered. Like many Greek bands at that time, Axis relocated to France and soon discarded their pop roots and went progressive big-time with this album. It's a mix of song oriented pop-psych and long complex instrumental journeys. ... read more »

LOCOMOTIVE - LOCOMOTIVE

TRAIN - COSTUMED CURTIS

TRAIN - COSTUMED CURTIS

Train were a Danish group that relocated to the United States and with the help of Vincent Bell, Bob Lenox, and Don Kreider released this very interesting Prog/Psych LP. A sort of schizophrenic album, with some very nice progressive touches.
