One of the youngest casualties of the blues, Little Junior Parker died in 1971 aged just 39, yet the singer/harmonica player left behind a remarkable legacy of hits and influential releases, recording for legendary labels like Modern, Sun and Duke. Ride With Me, Baby contains both sides of all 23 single releases from the first ten years of his career, plus nine other recordings from this period. During this time Parker enjoyed nine Billboard R&B hits, with "Feelin Good", "Next Time You See Me", "Driving Wheel", "In The Dark" and "Annie Get Your Yo-Yo", all making the Top 10. Parker would enjoy further hits up until his death, but never again made the Top 20.
Parkers second single for the legendary Sun label, "Mystery Train", failed to emulate the chart success of "Feelin Good", but would be covered by Elvis Presley two years later for the same label. The most comprehensive Junior Parker survey currently available, Ride With Me, Baby has been compiled by R&B authority Dave Penny, who also contributes an essay and disco graphical details to the illustrated booklet.
