Complete recordings. Seminal slowcore progenitors Sub Pop albums reissued individually as deluxe 2LP+CD or limited to 1000 boxed set. From 1990-1994, New York City's Codeine were making somnambulant waves on a musical landscape reeling from Sub Pop's better known exports. 1991's 'Frigid Stars' LP, 1992's 'Barely Real', and 1994's 'The White Birch' received much critical praise upon release, but Codeine dissolved before any of that hype would carry Low, Bedhead, and the Red House Painters to international acclaim. All three albums will be subjected to Numero's notoriously elaborate packaging and detailed liner notes, including essays by Seam's Sooyoung Park, Love Child's Alan Licht, and the Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd. The albums have been faithfully restored from the original masters, and are accompanied by a plethora of singles, demos, live recordings, and Peel sessions. Each album will be packaged as a double album with a CD of the same material. Additionally, an ultra deluxe box set of all three albums will be available in a limited edition of 1000 copies. In support of this great undertaking, Codeine's original line up of Stephen Immerwahr, John Engle, and Chris Brokaw will be reuniting for a handful of dates in the US and Europe, including All Tomorrow's Parties in both London and Japan, and Primavera in Spain and Portugal.

SIXTH STATION - DEEP NIGHT

SIXTH STATION - DEEP NIGHT

A raw cry from the dark night of one man's soul. Cloistered away from the popular culture of 1982, rural Illinois priest Tony Trosley painted a pastoral refraction of early 1970's Laurel Canyon watercolors with this stand-alone set of songs. Openhearted and naively ... read more »

JOSEFUS - DEAD MAN (USA)

JOSEFUS - DEAD MAN (USA)

'Dead Man' is a 13th Floor Elevator descent headlong into southern-fried bloody Sabbath. Released on the Hookah imprint in 1970, the LPs gaping cranium cover, sludged-up blues, and bone-bleached riffs outsold 'Let It Be', if only locally, being far "too ... read more »

From the dawn of doo-wop to the death of disco, the Notations saw - and sang - it all. Persisting through changing trends and technologies, on major labels and minor ones, produced by both Syl Johnson and Curtis Mayfield, nothing could stop the Notations from representing ... read more »

COWELL, JEFF - LUCKY STRIKES & LIQUID GOLD

COWELL, JEFF - LUCKY STRIKES & LIQUID GOLD

Ten road-weary tales from the wrong side of outlaw country. Jeff Cowell may have huffed the same narcotic air as Townes Van Zandt and David Allan Coe, but hunkered far from the Nashville city limits, nary a Cash or Paycheck would drunkenly slur through his tunes. Recorded ... read more »

94 EAST - IF YOU SEE ME/GAMES
