A vinyl reissue of a great LP from the UK's late '70s and early '80s mod-revival scene that also brought us bands s.a. The Secret Affair, Purple Hearts, Lambrettas, Chords and The Jam.
Originally released in 1981, this was the debut release of Hi Lo Records, a label founded to issue the recordings by the band SQUIRE. In fact, this debut was launched as a solo LP by the band's frontman Anthony Meynell. 'Hits From 3000 Year Ago' compiles 14 tracks, including some classic Squire anthems that were written by Anthony between 1979 and 1981. These songs had become stage favourites, and on this album they can be heard raw, basic and stripped. The album is recommended to fans of '80s mod revivalists as well as The Kinks, Who, Byrds and Big Star. This issue has remastered sound and includes a colour insert with photos and detailed liner notes written by Anthony Meynell himself. Limited to 500 copies.
