Columbian percussionist Julio Ernesto "Fruko" Estrada is a legendary figure in Latin music, with a reputation comparable to f.i. Tito Puente's. In 1970 he formed Fruko Y Sus Tesos, a groupn that recorded many albums and singles, for Disco Fuentes in particular. 'El Preso' was originally released as a Peruvian 7-inch in 1973, and later -in 1975- it appeared in Columbia. 'Bang Bang (El Tiroteo)' is a psychedelic mambo cover of the New Swing Sextet's 'Bang Bang (Cotique)', originally released on a 78rpm platter and later on a 7-inch single.
