Great exotic psych/prog sounds from Anatolian musician EDIP
AKBAYRAM, backed by the awesome band DOSTLAR! A collection of
B-sides from hard to find 45s that never made it onto the
albums during the singer's psychedelic period. Akbayram glued
together disparate arrangements that combines noteworthy
analogue synthesizers with mystic poetry from hundreds of years
ago. Anatolian melodies with western touches, like breakdowns
for cosmic whispering, slammin' organ, or wild phasing effects
on folk instruments. Comes with remastered sound and a booklet
featuring photos and liners.

Also available: SINGLES OVERVIEW 1974-1977 (LP).

AKBAYRAM, EDIP -& DOSTLAR- - NEDIR NE DEGILDIR? (KOR)

A very different take on the Anatolian rock sound (tracks date from 1975-76), with strange keyboard washes leading to arrangements that feature wah-wah fuzz guitar and Akbayram's powerful swirling vocals, all backed by funked-up drums.

AKBAYRAM, EDIP -& DOSTLAR- - NICE YILLARA GÜLÜM

The third album by Turkish psychedelic singer Edip Akbayram, originally released in 1982. This later album really ramps up the silly synthesizers. You'll hear whooshy '80s Rolands, vocals run through a harmonizer and tons of totally tubular bass popping, and it all makes it ... read more »

GROUP TITAN - ANATOLIAN BREAK DANCE

GROUP TITAN - ANATOLIAN BREAK DANCE

Turkish ancient melodies get an '80s electro-funk treatment on this obscure album, originally released on the Diskotür label in 1985. Probably the work of an "ad-hoc" studio band (nothing is known about the musicians), this is a delirious mix of exotic ... read more »

Tropicalia-like music from a far from tropical country like Holland, does it exist? Of course not! However, between 1979 and the mid-'80s there was an exception. Palmeira was founded by Angelo Noce Santoro, some ten years after he was the guitarist of psych-prog legends ... read more »
