During the '60s and '70s, three distinguished gentlemen who had built their careers playing French-made exotic jazz (Roger Roger, Nino Nardini and orchestra leader Eddie Warner) met each evening in the Ganaro recording studio. They mainly experimented -or simply played- with keyboards that looked like prototypes of spaceships. Flying high on whimsical and joyful inspiration, the improbable trio used their strange instruments to sketch out the beginnings of something that, at that time, resembled the future of music. This collection presents some of the highlights from their light-hearted, electronic pop sessions.

Also available: SPACE ODDITIES 1972-1982 (CD).

DORIAN PIMPERNEL - ALLOMBON

Dorian Pimpernel only seems to be working with one goal in mind: restart the machine that once made us dream and go into ecstasy. Inspired first and foremost by the first wave of psychedelia ('Sgt. Peppers', 'S.F. Sorrow', 'An Electric Storm' by White Noise, the s/t album ... read more »

ROB JO STAR BAND - ROB JO STAR BAND

Stoned psychedelia! Garage punk under ACID. Official reissue of one of the WEIRDEST records ever released in France in the early 70s. Fantastic sci-fi spaced out psych with astonishing lysergic fuzz distortions and drenched crazy electronic noise effects.

ORVAL CARLOS SIBELIUS - ORDRE ET PROGRES

ORVAL CARLOS SIBELIUS - ORDRE ET PROGRES

Orval Carlos Sibelius returns to a musical era in which The Beach Boys and The Left Banke used heavy orchestrations in order to conjure up melancholic depths, and Pink Floyd and The Soft Machine crashed through the doors of perception.

INTELLIGENCE - CREPUSCULE WITH PAC-MAN

INTELLIGENCE - CREPUSCULE WITH PAC-MAN

Lars Finberg, the lo-fi dandy of West Seattle behind the band INTELLIGENCE, locked his front door and pressed the record button on his favorite eight-track machine and made 12 new songs that could be either ecclesiastic alien probes, Hank Williams going electro-clash, or ... read more »

REGAL (FRANCE) - TWO CYCLES & A LITTLE MORE

REGAL (FRANCE) - TWO CYCLES & A LITTLE MORE

A vinyl release of the third album by this French band. Musically we get a mix of dirty garage rock -more or less in the style of The Black Lips- with country and folk vibes. Of course the group never neglects its punk background either.

CANNIBALE - NO MERCY FOR LOVE

CANNIBALE - NO MERCY FOR LOVE

French band Cannibale releases an exciting album that sounds like a surprising -and very psychedelic- mixture of cumbia, African rhythms and garage music. Or, if you will, a kind of missing link between Fela Kuti, The Doors and The Seeds!
