'Nobody Knows' is arguably Nigeria's best -and perhaps only- disco-country album. Country music has always been influential in Nigeria and Ogosi managed to channel Jim Reeves via the bright lights of Lagos' burgeoning disco scene to produce an album of sparkling mournfulness. 'Nobody Knows' was originally released by Phonodisk in 1981.

Also available: NOBODY KNOWS (CD).

VISITORS (NIGERIA) - MY GOOD FRIENDS

The least known name - but arguably one of the best bands - on Ben Ononkwo's Clover Sound label was The Visitors. For a short, sweet time between 1975 and 1978, The Visitors created the most righteous sounds in the east of Nigeria. We're talking deep Afro-funk with generous ... read more »
