Originally scheduled to be the second Funkadelic 45, 'Can't Shake It Loose' was cancelled before release in the early '70s. The song had previously been a single (and northern soul classic) by Pat Lewis, whilst the Supremes had recorded it for Motown. It's fascinating to hear Funkadelic's treatment on 45 for the first time. It is backed by one of the great breakbeats, the band's actual second single 'I'll Bet You'. The opening break sounds amazing on this newly mastered 45.
