The first release in the Bongo Joe 45s series offers some splendid Afro-Caribbean Space Sounds from Amsterdam! The Mauskovic Dance Band features the Mauskovic brothers (including drummer Nicola, who previously toured the world with Jacco Gardner and Eerie Wanda) and a mysterious Columbian percussionist named Pablo. The music is mainly influenced by '70s Afro-beat and Columbian Cumbia, blended with the early '80s New York no-wave sounds of ESG and Liquid Liquid. Presenting a rather simple yet hypnotic sound, the band has one main goal: to make people dance! This release is limited to 400 copies on black vinyl.
