Rare mid '70s downer-rock by south London based godless degenerates Warlord, featuring the tortured vocals of wildman singer Richard Roffey and eerie organ of leader Ivan Coutts. Soaked in a maelstrom of dark imagery, this underground band's drug-crazed ravings are propelled by the hard-riffing guitar of pre-Stallion axeman John Alexander. From the Sabbath style headbanger 'Face Of The Sun' to the concluding witch burning ceremony of 'The Ring', echoing early Black Widow, Warlord's frantic sound is both gripping and unnerving. Also included is a pre-Warlord track, 'To The Devil A Daughter' by the Coutts led outfit The Blacksmiths plus detailed band history. Limited to just 300 numbered copies on heavy 180 gram vinyl.

On CD, this is an extremely obscure LP from the mid '70s, recorded by a female fronted band from Kent. Irene Menasche's voice reminds of Spirogyra's Barbara Gaskin and Pauline Filby of Narnia. Highlight of this release is the 9-minute track 'Golden Age', which is full of ... read more »

FERRIS WHEEL (UK) - SUPERNATURAL GIRL

This is a re-mastered CD of one of the UK's rarest stoner-folk albums. Recorded in 1974, it features 14 original compositions along with fresh sleevenotes etc. This is one of the UK's ultimate downer-folk obscurities with electric sorrow and heartache etched deeply into ... read more »

MAGLORY DENGLUCH - THE MAGLORY DENGLUCH

The first ever re-issue of an album so rare that many even doubted its existence. Nevertheless, here's a CD issue of that totally unknown and undocumented UK folk rarity. This album was recorded in 1969 and the following summer a tiny amount of discs were pressed up mainly ... read more »

SLOWBONE THE WONDERBOYS - ROUND & ROUND

For a short while, during 1973-'74, British '70s band Slowbone had extended its name to Slowbone The Wonderboys. This era saw a single release on Rare Earth Records (a cover of Neil Sedaka's 'Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen'), but the desired breakthrough didn't happen. This ... read more »
