Around 1969, Andy Aaron changed the name of his band from Andy Aaron & the Soul Brothers to the Mean Machine. By that time, the band included vocalist Bonnie Blanchard, a church singer who also sang hits by Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack and Stevie Wonder. The Mean Machine also included Grover Washington on sax. 'You're The Only One' only managed to get local airplay in Philadelphia.
