Cap'tain Creole was originally formed as Trenchtown Meditation in 1979. After releasing one LP, their guitarist quit the band and the members renamed the band to Cap'tain Créole, with the aim - while remaining true to its reggae roots - of exploring new musical horizons. They recorded this 12" entitled 'Ni Bel Jounin', which contains two tracks sung in Creole and has influences of Afro, rock, funk and reggae.
