Influenced by the UK punk/new wave explosion, The Media was a Portsmouth band formed in 1978 and they toured with Secret Affair, The Vapors and The Lambrettas. They recorded one album, but that has never been released due to their sudden break-up.
Forty years later, those 1979 sessions were released as 'Bright New Future' and renewed interest led to the band appearing on a number of compilation abums from Edsel, Heavy Soul and the Bored Teenager series. Detour Records comes with a collection of thirteen tracks from this punk/mod band. Initial pressing comes on purple vinyl.
