Even in 1994, exciting traditional metal albums were being recorded while "out there" grunge and crossover were raging. Morbid Jester from Herborn, Germany started in 1988 under the name Milzbrand (German for anthrax) and initially played punk. But the love for heavy metal prevailed among the members, so in 1992 they recorded their first metal demo as Morbis Jester, which led to this debut album 'When The Battle Is Won'.
