Originally dating back to 1980, a time when improvised music in London was settling into a long spell of excellence, the second album by Alterations (comprising Steve Beresford, Peter Cusack, Terry Day and David Toop) sees a welcome reissue on vinyl. 'Up Your Sleeve' is free improvisation drawn from a very broad range of components. Back in the day all the members of the group were also in bands that played songs, most notably Steve who was involved with The Slits and The Flying Lizards. (B.t.w., David also briefly basked as a Lizard.)
