'Floating Islands' is the second release by the Italian space rock band Jalayan, which takes the listener on a spacy, synth-heavy and trippy journey. The band plays solid progressive space rock, spiked with electronic and folk elements, unmistakably reminiscent of Ozric Tentacles, Quantum Fantay or Mantric Muse in its structure. The whole album is bursting with energy, built up by driving synth-bass
rhythms, heavy guitar riffs and lots of bubbling synths and keyboards. If you look for masterful instrumental space rock, 'Floating Islands' is a good choice. Top-class produced and mastered, the album delights on the turntable with a crystal clear, powerful sound. Limited to 200 copies.
