David John & The Mood formed in Preston in the mid-'60s following the R&B/beat boom and featured ace guitar player Peter Illingworth (later of mod-psych trio Purple Haze and heavy rockers Little Free Rock). This EP compiles their killer second and third 45s, produced by Joe Meek and featuring the freakbeat classic 'Diggin' For Gold.'
