L.A.'s legendary psychedelic songcrafters The Smoking Trees have been making lushly trippy baroque-pop-psych vinyl offerings since 2013's mind-melting 'Acetate' LP on Burger Records. Now, ten years after their debut release, band leader Martin Nuñez has joined forces with Hypnotic Bridge to take the trip to an even higher plane. Evolving from deep well of musical concepts and sounds that came together during the long, strange months of the lockdown, 'Funtime Sunshine' is the perfect song at the perfect time, encapsulating the optimism of an enlightened new era on our horizon. Flowing with dreamy lysergic lyrics and sitar-laden soundscapes, it's an invitation to let go of all to bask in the eternal Now. B-side ''66' shifts The Smoking Trees sound into a higher, faster gear, celebrating the monumental year the fuse was lit for an explosion of psychedelic fashion, film, art, and, most importantly, music.
