British Walkers

Are Coming (+dvd)

The British Walkers were a band in Washington D.C. with a unique history and place in the music scene there during the 60s tumultuous time of cultural change. Although the group went through various member incarnations (Roy Buchanan was a founder member), they recorded a variety of single records for labels such as Try, Manchester, Charger and Soultime. Their most known 45 though, an infectious mod version of "Shake" b/w "That Was Yesterday" came out on Cameo and was even released in Europe. So far no album of them was ever previously compiled. Now, finally a collection of all the bandss 45s recorded from 1964 - 67 has made it to CD. Beside their Cameo 45s the collection includes killer stuff such as the harmonica wailin "Bad Lightning", the beatlesque "I Found You", the Bo Diddley stomper "Diddley Daddy", the 'Link Wray' written "Watch Yourself" plus Story Of My Life, Shmon Part 1 & Part 2, Girl Cant Help It, and Lonely Lovers Poem. Comes with a bonus DVD interview disc with long-time bandmember Bobby "The Kid" Howard and has a detailed 8-page booklet with full bandhistory and rare pictures. A long overdue release bringing back one of the finest bands of the Washington 60s scene
