Los Prisioneros

Estadio Nacional (2cd)

Los Prisioneros are by far the most representative group in the history of Chilean rock. The austerity of a music without virtuous pretensions, and lyrics full of sharp social observation were the soundtrack of youthful disenchantment in the midst of Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship, and today they maintain that validity that defines the classics. 'Estadio Nacional' is a live album, recorded from two concerts performed on November 30 and December 1, 2001 at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago. The reason for the concerts was to celebrate the band's return after a decade of separation. More than 140,000 people attended (a historical record in the country) and live versions of 27 of their songs were recorded. The setlist included, in addition to the band's greatest hits, some lesser known songs such as 'De Rusia Con Amor' (cover of the main theme of the James Bond movie of the same name), 'Generación De Mierda' and 'Mal De Parkinson,' which represent Los Prisioneros in their stages as Los Vinchukas, Los Apestosos and Gus Gusano Y Sus Necrofílicos Hemofílicos, respectively.
